If you are an instructional administrator in a Texas community college with responsibility for academic transfer, developmental education, or another area, TCCIA is your association. When TCCIA was first organized, it was devoted to chief academic officers. Several years ago, the membership was opened up to all instructional administrators. With the evolution of the Texas Council of College Instructional Leaders (TCCIL), a collaboration of TCCIA, the Texas Association of College Technical Educators (TACTE), and the Texas Association of Continuing Education (TACE), new dimensions have been added to our work. TCCIA will focus on general and developmental education, transfer issues, college readiness issues, and retention and success. The TCCIL will focus on those issues that are applicable to all instructional administrators, regardless of areas of responsibility. The collaboration of TCCIA, TACTE, and TACE provides the opportunity for all instructional administrators to speak with one voice, address issues of concern and interest common to all administrators, and allow the individual association conferences to focus on those issues of particular concern and relevance to their membership. Topics of interest to TCCIA members include:

• Impact of legislative issues on community colleges
• Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and SACS information related to community college programs
• Strengthening of instructional programs
• Development of effective leadership
• Innovation leading to successful teaching and learning
• Collaboration on issues of common interest
